Be Smart Terrace Algarve

Not as advertised so just be aware....we stayed in a balcony view apartment which was great in itself, a few issues with the cleaning etc and ocassionally there was a bad smell coming from bathroom area which can only be described as a plumbing issue, but all in all a pleasant enough spacious apartment....my main issue was the all inclusive, when you think all inclusive you don't think about having to pay for pretty much everything!! 2 main buffet areas, one of which was closed on a few of the day's with no actual reason why, a burger bar which was closed as was out of season, and 2 main bookable restaurants inside the main hotel, which upon arrival we where told we couldn't book as we were in the apartments and not the main hotel!!! So pretty much left with one buffet area and a few pool bars.....at the main buffet the only drinks you could get were wine, soft drinks and beer, no spirits whatsoever!!! The pool bars had a list of cocktails you could have which comorised of about 6, the rest, including vodka, gin etc etc you had to pay for, and a pink gin and lemonade was 8 euros!!!! Snacks at the pool bar you also had to pay for, 2 euros 50 for an ice cream!! Food at the buffet was less than desirable and cold most of the time, so we are out in many evenings as we just couldn't stomach the food at all!! Very disappointing....the only upside was that the staff were all friendly, polite and accomodating! The area of the hotel itself is very pretty, the beach is a stone's throw and was absolutely beautiful, but not much else to do I'm afraid, we ended up hiring a car and got ripped off through europcar when they told us they had the automatic car we needed but on the day we were supposed to collect it, they decided they hadn't got any automatics so we wouldn't be charged, they lied and charged us anyways and it's 2 weeks later and were still waiting on a refund, just be careful!! We got a car in the end but at double the cost as we used a different company....would I go back, yes to Portugal, but no to the same hotel or area!

Very spacious and nice balcony Basic kitchen equipement but no dish soap or sponge. Pretty loud.

Accesible apartments!

Not a bad holiday for the money. Apartment was bigger than expected and clean on arrival,thou had to ask for clean towels and bedding on days 3 n 5 as they weren't changed when rooms were cleaned. Food was satisfactory lots of choice but near enough the same all week. Transport is cheap enough and plenty to do for the kids. Locals okay not over friendly but not dragging you into every shop/restaurant you pass. Overall enjoyed our stay.
