Um local a visitar. Onde se pode respirar silêncio e pesquisar o que se quiser. Com responsáveis que se interessam pela promoção da leitura e onde é possível promover eventos. Sempre abertos a opiniões e prontos pelo menos uma vez por ano a uma caça ao tesouro, onde se permite visitar salas que doutra forma não se vêem. Uma noite divertida às escuras e com enigmas fantásticos. sempre a repetir, principalmente com o empenho que todos dedicam à mesma. Fabulosa

After an uphill walk at 3 o'clock in the month of July, I arrive and I find access to the banned room. While I'm standing there in front of the forbidden sign and thinking about what to do, on the right I see a rather large room (for about 20 users) where there is a man who looks at me in a very hostile way and another man who reads a magazine. I approach them and the hostile-looking gentleman rushes to the door of the room in a gesture to prevent him from entering. I ask him if I can sit in the room to work with my laptop and he says no because it is a reading room and I take away the site from other users. sorry? but if there is only one person besides you, I tell you. and he answers me: already, but what if someone else comes? in short, what desire some have to embitter people's lives. hostile gentleman, if you are reading me, know that I want all people like you to be extinguished someday. that day the earth will be a much more HUMAN place.

Extraordinário espaço de trabalho. O serviço de empréstimo é excelente - e o atendimento melhorou muito nos últimos anos.

Biblioteca fundada pelo Arcebispo de Évora, Frei Manuel do Cenáculo, no início do século XIX. Possui um dos mais importantes acervos bibliográficos do país. Infelizmente é um dos melhores exemplos de desinvestimento no interior do país lutando contra graves problemas de falta de pessoal. A sala de leitura no primeiro piso é de visita obrigatória, mas em silêncio... :) não deixa de ser uma biblioteca.

Mágica para os amantes de livros! Há zonas que, so pelo cheiro dos livros, nos levam ao passado! Amo!
