Rota dos Vinhos do Alentejo

A lovely cool oasis which was very welcome on a hot August afternoon! It’s offer of a wine tasting of 6 Alentejo wines for just €5 each was recommended by our walking tour guide. The gentleman was very knowledgeable and agreed to give us a private tasting when we walked in to enquire about timings.

Great wine tasting with many helpful explanations of the origin and characteristics of the wines.

We stopped in to do the wine tasting. For 3 euro, we got to try 6 wines. The lady who did the tasting was friendly and informative. There is a bit of an exhibit that provides insights into the Alentejano region. There's some information on different grape varieties and the soil. It's not a ton of info. but it was nice to look through before the tasting. You can also buy wine here.

Try 6 wines for 3 Euro, but if you buy enough, fee is waived. We learned a lot about the region's wine. Staff is versatile in many languages.

Very good wines, reasonable prices. Must visit if you like wine.
