Arco Romano de Dona Isabel

We appreciated the arch more due to information from this historic artist “Corresponding to one of the gates of the Roman city of Ebora , this military, civil and public structure was built between the end of the century. II and the beginning of the century. III d. Ç. Built in granite stonework, and without the presence of the watchmen that made it up, to this day only the wide gap in the city wall has reached. Possessing of height c. 4.5 m and 4 m wide, it is a perfect round arch, consisting of 29 wedge-shaped silhares. Uma das entrada da Cidade no tempo Românico, assinalável este lugar de interesse público, classificado como Património Mundial da Humanidade pela UNESCO, conferindo-lhe uma relevância Patrimonial de grande destaque Nacional.

Era uma das entradas da cidade, no tempo da primeira muralha. Arco de volta perfeita erigido em fins do séc. II, ou séc. III, fez parte da Évora romana, ou Ebora Liberalitas Julia. Daqui foi retirado para o Museu Nacional Frei Manuel do Cenáculo, em Évora, um retrato do Imperador Tibério (fragmentos).
