The owners of our hotel recommended this place and when we saw the outside we were sceptical due to the appearance, so we looked elsewhere. After walking around and not finding anywhere with an appealing menu (very fussy eaters) we decided to ask reception if they could book us a table. We are so glad they did. We arrived and went through the narrow entrance door and realised it's so much bigger than appears from outside. People were waiting in a queue in the street because they hadn't booked. The menu is very varied and they will adapt to your needs allergies etc. Our meal and wine was fantastic. Service was quick and courteous, but they didn't rush you in choosing and we're very informative of ingredients. The seating is a little strange. Large heavy wooden tables and bench seats to match, but all added to the atmosphere

Delicious food, huge portions. The meat was incredibly tender and seasoned perfectly. The eggs with linguiça were very tasty and the linguiça itself was high quality.

Excellent food and service. Very big portions, and excellent house wine. Polvo a lagareiro is amazing!

Very overrated: I tried to have dinner at this place several times but it was always full. Today, finally, I had the change to try it. Overall I did not like it. The “salada de polvo” was not fresh and not well cooked. The “choquinhos fritos” full of sand. The only thing that was ok was the “amêijoas”. Also, the service was slow and not very polite.

Chocos grelhados were very tasty, full portion could be too much though. If you are not very hungry take a half of it! Also huge selection of delicious deserts. House wine 1.5 euros for a glass! Super
