CONSULTÓRIO VETERINÁRIO DA CALHETA

Very poor treatment. Very expensive. Not recommended. This is the worst Vet we have ever come across in our many years of visiting vets. Heavy handed, lack of care, lack of instructions on medicinal treatment, non-existent communication, and a poor level of service. This veterinary is quick to take your money but disregard their primary objective - animal care. We had a perfectly happy, loving, cheerful dog - but Vet clinic slowly destroyed his confidence. He is now suffering from stress, anxiety and fear. They caused him a lot of pain using invasive techniques during examinations that we learnt from another vet could be handled better with care and attention to not cause pain and suffering. We were warned about this Vet by a local pet shop but ignored the advice only later to find out everything they told us to be true. Even if you are not concerned about paying more than you should, the most concerning element is the lack of care towards animals and how they cause more pain & suffering than is actually necessary. They exacerbate conditions opposed to improving health & well-being of your furry friend. Vet Clinic is a dinosaur aged veterinarian who will cause more damage than good to your pet. There are several good vets in Funchal who will treat your animal with the love, care and attention it truly deserves. We found an excellent vet (and our dog didn't scream once during a health examination which says it all really). We are now slowly rebuilding his confidence and hope our dog returns to how he was before. One thing is guaranteed, we will never step foot in Vet clinic again or give another penny to this disgraceful, dreadful, appalling veterinary which should not be allowed to treat animals.

Lovely competant receptionist, Liliana who speaks very good English. The Vet, sorry I can't remember her name very, very sympathetic with both pets and owners A bit pricey..... I'm comparing it to the mainland.
