Hotel & Croquet Club Quinta da Chamine

We had a super comfortable stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful with all our requests. We traveled with 4 of our horses and they could provide good facilities for them also. We had the pleasure to meet the owner with whom we shared beautiful stories around the fireplace and enjoyed playing music together. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. All staff is multilingual (Spanish/English) and arrived at the hotel recently full of enthusiasm and willingness. Definitely a place I would return to.

While travelling around Portugal on horseback we had the pleasure of meeting the owner of this hotel, Fransisco. He went out of his way to invite us to stay at Quinta da Chamine. We arrived late at night to a warm welcome from the lovely staff who couldn't do enough to make us and the horses comfortable. The rooms were immaculate, the staff friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back to this beautiful place.

Absolutely terrible, the room was not clean at all. The bed sheets were not changed from the previous guest, there were hairs everywhere. I asked to change rooms, the second one had clean sheets, but after a shower started a fetid smell that overwhelmed the room. After a close inspection this room also had cleaning faults. We slept on our beach towels, because we had no where else to go at that time of night.

It was my third stay at "Hotel & Croquet Club Quinta da Chamine" & for another time, it has been outstanding! I can't imagine another place in Portugal with such a love for every detail for enjoying the silence, a good time with your beloved ones & the lovely cruises on the insane roads towards the beach, the next city or whatever place you are going to discover. Really looking forward to my next stay at Quinta da Chamine!
