One of the most incredible hikes of my life. The trail is safe, unbelievably scenic, and not too strenuous. At some parts it became misty which created an ethereal atmosphere. One you’re on the top of the peak, you’ll have a panoramic view of the surroundings and the Atlantic Ocean. It’s quite surprising to see canaries at that altitude. It’s an ideal hike for people of all ages I think. I highly recommend this place.

Easy to access, good clean path with covered stops for bad weather. Cafe not far from the top for a break and a brew, not cheap but you are on top of a mountain. Great views if you are lucky with the weather and plenty of room up top for taking pictures. Bit of up and down of course but nothing too dangerous or strenuous as long as you are equipped reasonable and act sensible. Well worth a hike if you are in the area.

This is a pretty short hike with gorgeous views the whole trail. I calculated to arrive at Pico Ruivo about an hour before sunset time and it was an absolute magical scenery. I was with a dozen of people waiting for that special moment of the day—the sunset over the clouds and the sky painting could easily be a Van Gogh's work. The only “downside” is that you’ll need to do the hike back to the parking partially with a headlamp but it’s fairly easy and not dangerous at all. That downside feeling quickly changes to WOW when you put off your headlamp and look up in the sky to witness more stars than you’ll ever see at once and a big fat galaxy!

Nice walk on top of the mountains. Good to make it with not much sun expose as the landscape is particularly made of bushes. I recommend it as you will see a nice landscape and the walkway is not much difficult.
