They do not have a payment method for foreign cards. So had to ask someone to pay (because they gave a reference for an ATM which does not work for foreigners) and then pay this person (a total amount of 167 euros from the urgency - that i did not used - AND the consultation). Was false diagnosed, so I paid for nothing and now, went to another doctor so that he could tell me what I suspected: I need penicillin injections in order to heal my tonsilitis.

From the reception to the nurses to the doctor, very polite, fast and efficient. I needed their help and I am glad I went there. The hospital is clean and seems well organised. The price of the treatment I had and consultation with the doctor was reasonable. Thank you to the staff there I feel much better.

Great hospital. It's a private hospital so going with an EHIC card won't get you free healthcare - as some reviewers seem to believe. I was operated at the hospital and my Surgeon Dr João Bacelar was great, the nurses are kind and always available. All rooms are private, have TV, WiFi and Air Con, I even had terrace access from my room. Can't say much about the food as I was only allowed to eat ice cream and drink cold liquids. My friend was even offered a room to sleep in if he wanted to stay overnight - I guess this depends on your insurance though, we didn't use it. The only thing which could be improved is the WiFi, particularly during the day while there are day visitors the network is extremely slow. I had full 4G coverage though so not a big deal.

A minha avaliação não se refere nem às condições do hospital (parecem ser normais) nem aos seus profissionais (nada de anormal). É mesmo uma avaliação da experiência desagradável com um médico em particular. Contudo a culpa é toda minha por ter estado habituado a lidar com outro tipo de profissional e outra cultura no que diz respeito à relação médico-paciente. Conduto aprendi a minha lição. Já agora, como é que hoje em dia identificam uma garganta inflamada num bebé sem lhe ver a garganta? Sou ignorante nesta área mas parece-me uma tarefa complicada. Ou dizer que está tudo bem com os ouvidos da criança sem os ver. Se vão cobrar tanto por uma consulta de 5 minutos, por favor façam as coisas em condições. Espero que toda esta cultura de se aproveitar do infortúnio dos outros um dia acabe.
