Several facts, such as the great earthquake of 1755, which allowed the construction of the Baixa Pombalina; or the time of the Discoveries, with which the Jerónimos Monastery and the Torre de Belém were built, have shaped the city as it is today. However, not all the great monuments have centuries of existence, since this city has always been in constant change and offers places such as the Monument to the Discoveries, with just 50 years old, and the whole recent area of ​​the Park of the Nations , built after Expo 98.
