0 stars, if I could No customer service at all. Helena from AGS has not provided any customer satisfaction, she does not reply emails, don't call you back, don't give any clear update. Not accountable at all. In my case She had miscommunication with an agent and lost one month of time, and I have many other examples of how she screwed it up. I included more people from AGS Portugal, but nothing got improved, so I guess it's in general the company which is not good.

This feedback relates to the relocation of our household items from Doha in Qatar to Porto in Portugal in 2018. In the past we have used other companies (Santa Fe, Allied Pickfords) for our local and international moves, and these have always had smooth and trouble-free events. Based on the slightly lower cost, this time we decided to try AGS. However, it has been a frustrating and stressful experience, in part caused by poor customer expectation management by the AGS Lisbon office. For anyone interested, the details follow below. For us to import our belongings duty free to Portugal, we would need to have a fixed address in Portugal and certificate of residence. The plan, fully shared and agreed with AGS Qatar, was for us to travel to Portugal, to find a rented house and get the attest of residence during the 7 – 8 weeks that container would be in transit. A few days after we had left Qatar, AGS Lisbon alarmed us by stating that they would not agree to the container being shipped from Doha, before we had the attest of residence. Since we could only get that attest after having found and rented a house, followed by obtaining certificate of residence, this demand by AGS Lisbon would not only lead to added cost for storage of the container in Doha, but also mean that we would be without our belongings for an additional number of weeks. Had we known about that demand in advance, we would never have contracted AGS for our move. Luckily, in the end it turned out that AGS Qatar had already shipped the container. But until that was revealed, we had some hours of unnecessary worry. Before awarding the moving contract to AGS Qatar, we had carefully analysed the offer and double checked with AGS that it included all likely port and customs charges. As we have since learned, the national sport in Portugal is not football, as one might have thought, but workplace strikes. Once the container arrived in Portugal, as luck would have it, the dockers in the receiving port were on strike. Granted, the resulting delay was not within the control of AGS, but at least the Lisbon office should have attempted to keep us updated on events and given us its best estimates of the delivery time. One day though, out of the blue, came the good news that the container was ready for delivery the following day - once we had paid an extra 839 Euros for port charges. Any delay in paying the fee would lead to additional charges. This really felt like blackmail. Yes, maybe it is common practice to transfer strike-related cost to the customer, but why wait to the last minute to inform us? Yes, the exact amount would not have been known early, but good customer management would have been to alert us in advance that there would be a cost. In the end, all we could do was to pay up, even though only part of the extra cost was due to the strike. The other part was the offer assuming only five customs clearing days, while AGS Lisbon at this point claimed that ten days is the norm. Well, in the end we got our stuff. The all-Brazilian delivery crew spoke no English, by the way, which seems odd for an international moving company. But they did their best to place our things and assemble our furniture with the limited communication between us that was possible.

Used their services to ship personal items from Lisbon abroad to Africa and was thoroughly impressed by their communication, service and reliability. In particular, our AGS sales rep Manuel Hourcade was excellent in clearly outlining the entire process and associated costs. Our items arrived safe and where delivered within the designated time frame. Will certainly use AGS again as they obviously have a strong global network and value customer service.

Hello, I wanted to write this review because the AGS company did a great job. My contact Anna was responsive and efficient. Marcello's moving team were friendly, caring and professional. I made 2 moves with the company AGS and everything went extremely well knowing that the first move was complicated (5 floors without elevator). All of my furniture has been carefully packed and protected. I am more than delighted with their work and service. I was recommended by a work colleague and I myself have already recommended them to friends living in Porto. Once again, thank you for your professionalism, your collaboration and your sympathy. Very good continuation to you all and thank you again !!!
