Subnauta

Really disappointed in this dive shop and can't relate to the positive reviews here. We picked Subnauta based on their high rating but our experience was the worst. My boyfriend and I are beginners but we do know that a professional dive shop should not act like Subnauta did. We arrived in the morning on time to the shop where we were rushed with getting changed. We were the only ones diving that morning so I didn't understand why the rush. Half an hour after our arrival we were already on the boat heading to the first dive spot. They packed our equipment without showing it to us (all they asked was the boot size) we had no chance to check anything. We stopped at the first spot and the moment the boat stopped our DM/instructor jumped into the water and was rushing us constantly by asking if we were ready which we obviously weren't as we were still putting on our fins and masks. There was no time for a buddy check either and after jumping into the water our DM was rushing to dive down. My mask was not sealing properly and I got flooded with water so I went back up where my boyfriend tried to help me remove the hair stuck under my mask. The DM was already long gone. After he finally surfaced I told him I didn't feel comfortable diving there as also the visibility was so bad we could't see anything in the water. So they offered to take us to a shallower spot. We agreed and we did a dive there. My boyfriend didn't have enough weight on him and was constantly floating mid water trying to get down to the bottom but always floating back up. This caused him the need to equalize very often and when we surfaced his nose started bleeding. To this our boat driver said "don't worry, it's normal". I don't think it's normal to bleed from anywhere without a reason so we decided to not do the second dive. We told the DM and driver we would like to go back and they kind of seemed offended. When we got back to the shop the DM dismissed us without asking a thing. We paid the full price without any objection, which now seems dumb as we couldn't have done the second dive with a bleeding nose anyway... Overall our DM was very demotivated and it felt like we were a burden to him and he just wanted to get over with it, which ruined the whole thing for us as well. After the dive we couldn't even use the showers "because covid"... Sticking their regs on our mouth was ok though. My boyfriend's nose was bleeding for 2 days and he was spitting blood even a week after the dive. Would never dive with them again.

The Subnauta team is nice. But the dives were horrible. You can't see 2 meters ahead! We dove to 2 different ship wrecks. You can only see what close enough to touch so we couldn't see the ships at all. You have to keep up with the guild because the viability is so horrible so you barely look around. Especially if there are currents. So we did not enjoy the dives at all. It's like diving in milk. I wouldn't recommend diving in this area at all. It's a waste of time and money. On the plus side the Subnauta has a nice facility and good quality equipment that is suitable for the cold water of the Atlantic.

One of the best divecenters I've been to. Very fast and polite reservation via mail. The welcoming was very good, all went as agreed and planned! The divecenter is very clean, lots of space, free big lockers, big new dressing area with toilets and brand new showers with free shampoo and towels. All equipment is delivered on the boat before you even arrive in the port, so no hassle with heavy gear and weights, super! Made 2 very nice wreck dives in the Ocean Revival Park (protected are where no fishing is allowed). Got free lunch, water and coffee or tea on board, very helpful crew. It was all relax, no stress, only fun 😉 Would definitely come here again!

I cant empathize how subnauta's team is great. They are super friendly and really down to earth. They offer great quality services at an affordable price. To the overall team, huge thank you.

One of the better dive shops I have been in. Staff was great, helpful and very excited their wreck locations. The locker room had HOT WATER for showers and lockers that locked. Briefings (went on two wreck dives) were very detailed and done in the shop by the dive master with AV backup.
