Simple church, neat, clean, old... Worth a visit as a sideline fairly priced at 1.50 euros per adult. Not worth coming to Silves specifically to see it.

A origem da Ermida de Nossa Senhora dos Mártires remonta à conquita da cidade por D.Sancho I, quando o rei aí mandou sepultar os cristãos mortos na conquista. Deste templo primitivo nada resta. A actual ermida é uma construção tardo-gótica, do século XVI, de uma única nave. Devido aos danos provocados pelo terramoto de 1755, a fachada sofreu remodelações, nesse mesmo século, recorrendo a elementos tardo-barrocos.
