Praia do Barril

This is one of my favourite beaches. It is huge and there will always be room to stay and play games. It also has nice facilities such as toilets, shops, cafes and restaurants. You can either get there by foot or take the small train (around 3€).

To get to the beach you can take a little train which is always great fun. Once at the beach there are a number of nice cafe/restaurants.

I've started to come here since the 80's, and after the year 2000 every summer is like coming to a sanctuary love it.

The installation (shops, restaurants, train) are really good, but the beach is not the best. Rocky sand and waves that don't allow for much relaxing in the water

Very good beach.Excellent facilities with restaurant,cafes,stop and toilets.Lifeguarded beach clearly marked.It is very clean and well maintained.The small train from the bridge is very novel and saves the walk.The history of the island is also well explained on picture boards and the "Cemetery of Anchors" is impressive.There is also lots of wildlife in the dunes and river.Well worth a visit and you could spend all day if you like being on the beach and in the water.
