Old Jail

Lovely bar and restaurant set in a 500 year old jail. Upstairs bar served a nice margarita while we waited for our table in the restaurant downstairs. Cuisine was regional with a gourmet twist, and very well done. The black pork sausage in pastry is highly recommended. Our server Margarida was very knowledgeable about the menu and the history of the building. We will probably go back before we leave Estremoz.

Nice restaurant with good food in a historic building.

A cosy restaurant tucked in an old 16th century jail. Chef Alice delivers nice interpretation of portuguse tapas and popular dishes with a modern twist in the flavours. Deserts are also all home made style, including the fruit sorbets. A great place to have a relaxed and slow meal in a very friendly atmosphere. Table sevice had some misses but the food is great and if you're patient and remind the waiter of your asks you will see it is worth the wait. English well spoken and international cards accepted.

Wonderful, interesting food and kind, attentive service in an interesting environment. The rooftop deck has amazing views. Our daughter was restless and our waitress went out of her way to make sure she was entertained. Definitely a place we would eat at again. We highly recommend it. And the prices were reasonable, particularly given the portion sizes.
