Nice hotel in the center of town with street parking nearby. Very friendly staff and comfortable beds. It is nothing fancy but it is a good value.

A cute place in a closed-to-cars boardwalk in central Beja. It is three stories tall, and old style construction, but very well kept. The stairwell was full of old photos from the Sixties and Seventies, probably the owner's kids, but very attractive. The breakfast area (free from 7:30 a.m. to ten) is old style with cakes and fried eggs, among other yummy things. An impressive selection. I would like to stay here for a couple of weeks, just to enjoy breakfast. The staff speak English in addition to Portuguese (and possibly other languages). Only steps from the front door to several other places to eat and some mouth-watering bakeries (we only finished off the bakery items today, five days after we left Beja). Shopping up and down the street. The only drawback I can think of is that there is no parking nearby (because this hotel is located on a walking-only-no-cars street), but the man at the front desk printed a map and pointed out some possible parking places and asked if we needed help with luggage (we had none). Going back soon!

Friendly staff, the rooms are very comfy and clean with a cute balcony to watch the heart of the village with flower smell and bird songs. Very lovely ! Breakfast is fresh, tasty and complete! There is also a living room with nice decoration and tv to rest and share coffee/tea from the counter that is free & available at anytime. No bad point to mention so far. Deserve their stars, could even add one !

Sadly this was by far the worst hotel experience we had during weeks of travelling through Portugal. Luckily we only had booked one night here, because otherwise we would’ve changed the hotel immediately. Our room was FULL of mould and by full I mean that it was everywhere: around the window, behind the bed, in all corners in the wall and in the whole bathroom - even the decoration (fake flowers) were mouldy. I do not require the highest standards and I can deal with reduced cleanliness but I have zero tolerance for mould as this is a health hazard. Also the smell was really bad. We have let the reception desk know about the mouldy room and our concerns but they just accepted it, so I feel no guilt to give my honest rating here. We left the hotel as early as possible and I think this hygienic state is unbearable. I will still talk about the other pros and cons: -The location is very central which is good and bad at the same time: you’re close to the city, but you cannot park there and it is loud (opposite a bar). -Staff was mixed: very friendly at the breakfast and very passive at the reception. -The room was tiny (no space to open the suitcase except on the bed) - Breakfast was okay. I would’ve preferred to eat in one of the surrounding cafes though. If it wasn’t for the mould and bad cleanliness I would probably have given 2-3 stars, but as I said, I feel the strong urge to warn people about this health hazard.

It was like prison, solitary confinement. Room without windows and with personal items of someone else inside. Someone’s dirty socks inside the nightstand! Im not kidding! A horrible experience!
