Very friendly staff but the food was not fantastic. Fish is fresh, that's OK. Very basic way of preparing fish: grill style is OK, but no spices, no olive oil, nothing creative. Minimal amount of vegetables (common in many restaurants here, though) Also, avoid the mixed grilled fish. You will get tails and heads, not the nice middle part. Better choose a full fish: look on Google to inform yourself on what you order.

I will never return to restaurant Monte Verde. The food was okay but what upsets me was the fact that prices and portions were not clear. We were recommended by chef/owner a breaded fish with tomato rice, salad, and potatoes. The price just for the fish was 70 euros for 4 people! I would advise anyone to make sure you know what you are getting and know the price before you order. I was thinking to get a portion of grilled fish but the chef had already decided for us on the breaded fish, which I was not impressed. Even before we had all decided on what to order the menus were taken from the table. Over all, I feel that we were taken for a surprise ride, a nasty ride. Avoid!!!

If you love proper fresh fish this is the place for you! A simple menu consisting solely of what's been caught that day. We shared a mixed fish grill and it was the freshest fish I've ever had. A bargain with a bottle of local wine and fresh local cheese and bread thrown in to start. Do note fish is the only thing on the menu so won't be a good place for vegetarians or fussy eaters!

This restaurant has promise but we were disappointed. After waiting over an hour for food (the restaurant was only 50% occupied), my husbands meal arrived and the grilled octopus he ordered arrived as fried octopus. There was no way to change the order. And did not taste fresh as well. My grilled fish was good, but was not enough to give this a higher rating.
