Villa Romana de Pisões

Brilliant Roman villa site. So we'll preserved and clearly visible. You can walk over the entire site and get a really good impression of how it looked. Highly recommended!

It's a very distant Place in thé Middle of nowhere.The mosaics suffer in open air, not covered or protected.Hard to imagine Romains been here...Now dry place without water,very hot in summer

This place is amazing. Don't miss it. Essentially a farmer stumbled onto these ruins while doing their job since then a bunch of excavation has been done. This is the ruins of an ancient Roman house and their private baths. They had a furnace that heated water and transferred it into a pool. They also had a large cool pool too. You can see all of this and more for an entry fee of 3 euros. There are even colorful mosaics still visible throughout the property (some are more than 2000 years old). The visitor's center is also nice and staffed with a really nice woman.

There's only one tarmac road to the site which can be found in the village of Santa Vitoria, turn off by the school and follow a single track road right to end of the tarmac, this is the location of the Roman villa and visitor centre. Very interesting with a near complete swimming pool and several mosaic floors. Closed on Mondays.

Great little place. The road takes you through a farm and it seems you're in the middle of no where, but once you get there a kind lady will open the gate and explain about the ruins. It is €3 each for anyone over 12.
