Fun! Worth the money.

11 Euros per adult one-way. A bit pricey considering the cost of other lifts of this type on the island. Views are extraordinary. The lift is just like any ski lift you'd go on in the mountains. The small window openings don't allow any airflow. It is a hot and long ride up to the top. Cues to get on are slow and attending staff are not very observant. Just disregard the photographers when you get on. They'll just try to sell you a crappy photo of you when you get to the top. If there are more than two of you in your party, you'd be better off getting a taxi to the top.

The view is nice, but due to the long waiting lines a taxi would probably get you up just as fast and for a lower price (unless you are travelling solo). Price for a one-way ticket was €10 per person. I subtracted a star from my rating due to the obnoxious photographers who won't take no for an answer. Your picture is taken at the start of the ride and printed when you arrive, whether you like it or not. Thanks for looking after the environment, Madeirans!

It is true that the fare is a bit overpriced (familly fare would be fine), but on the other hand you enjoy beautiful views and from the final you can comfortably descend back to Funchal. At the top you can expect photo taken in the lower station. But it's your option if you take it or not. The price of 10eur is for a photo, DVD and a voucher for local spirits in gift shop located under the cable car station.

I think it is not worth the money spent.
