Café Bar Maravilhas

Its like what we call in SA, a shebeen. Ok I have not been to one so maybe my spelling is incorrect.

We were staying in a nearby hotel and discovered this hidden gem by accident. Don’t get scared off by how it looks on the outside: in the inside it’s cosy, the food is delicious and freshly made. We tried the swordfish, the grilled squid and the espetada, all of them tasted like your grandmother’s cooking. The staff is extremely nice and attentive. It’s clearly an establishment frequented by locals, so if you are tired of the touristy restaurants downtown, this is the place to go. Of course, the prices are also very reasonable.

Great place to lunch. 2 dishes every day fish or meat. Simple, fast and affordable. My day by day choice.

Very good homemade food. Big portions, low prices.
