Amazing on the inside as well as the outside, although I must admit I wasn't expecting to see this much decoration inside!

This cathedral is literally the heart of Funchal. The alleys leading to it are incredibly serene and charming. Predictably, it gets crowded during the day and there are many restaurants with al fresco dining nearby.
