I called 112 because of a sharp pain in the belly and was taken to Hospital Dr Nelio Mendonca in an emergency. Through to cautious covid19 procedures I received good care and was able to leave Madeira for home in short time - confident enough to make the decision to leave hospital on my own responsibility. Full gratitude! Obrigado

I was admitted to Dr N Mendonca Hospital during "lockdown" in May 2020. I want to give my gratitude to Dr Tatiana Carvalho & her team for the successful operation done on me. I was diagnosed with "ploemorphic adenoma which cannot exclude the possibility of malignant transformation".....it was a risky operation with the possibility of some damage nerves that could cause a lopside face. After the operation my face was normal & I could smile again and still make facial expression. I also want to thank the day & night shift staff on 8th floor"tumour" section for their good work. I also want to thank the doctors & staff at emergancy unit for attending me, I'm impressed with doctor's English, as I have difficulty to understand Portuguese fluently & have hearing difficulty since birth. I also want to thank a doctor for helping me , without her I will be lost, will not know where to go for test ect. I want to say this ........for a public government hospital Dr N Mendonca deserve a 5 star. Note on Dr Tatiana Carvalho, she can also speak English With regards Emilia da Silva
