Einstieg Stadt-Levada „PIORNAIS“

It may not be the most romantic hiking route, but instructive. As this levada usually runs through urban structures in a westerly direction - you will also encounter the less beautiful and massive architectural coastal structures located far below the watercourse. The Levada itself flows through old hamlets or small marginal fields. Even in winter, plants and flowers of wildflowers or adjacent gardens can be admired on either side of the watercourse - if you keep your eyes open. If you are not afraid of heights, you should leave the levada at the cement works or just go back on the tour. Of course, there is also the possibility to continue on the descent - sea side to neighboring Camara de Lobos. The way to the entrance is possible with the Citybus Nr. 45 (Estadio) football stadium.
