Dom Peixe Restaurante

There aren’t many restaurants in Port Moniz and you’re likely going to only spend a short time there so you need to make sure you choose the right restaurant. Whilst on the coast, I’m sure you’ll want some good seafood and after swimming in the volcanic pools, you’ll probably want something to warm you up. To that extent, I’d highly recommend Dom Peixe, particularly their mixed seafood spaghetti, which is for at least 2 people, but can easily feed 3 or even 4. It is 37.50 euros but, as you will be able to tell from my picture attached, contains an extremely generous amount of seafood (including crabs, mussells, limpets and prawns) that more than justifies the price. The dish is extremely well done and comes in a cast iron pot so it retains its heat for when you inevitably go back for a second or third helping. The sauce is delicious and the tomatoes used are clearly fresh. To top it all off, the staff were very friendly and made sure we enjoyed our time there. Our only regret was that we weren’t able to finish all of our food despite us desperately wanting to do so. Probably one of my favourite meals of the entire trip!

Absolutely fantastic service in a really hard time of COVID. Constant care and attention with fantastic food to boot! Free small sides to accompany very tasty and well priced wine and free tasters of locally produced liquor. Definitely wish to return!

Fabulous food. Great service and fresh fish. I highly recommended it.

We ordered seafood pasta and octopus rice. Both were full of seafood and so delicious. However, be careful, the menu says it is min for 2 persons but it was much more than that. I think it was for 3 or 4 persons... We regret that we have to left the food. Anyway, service was also nice and I recommend this restaurant.

Great place with a out side dining area. The cod was well received but the steak and mushrooms the sauce was a bit strong, the local bear is great you must try.
