O Farol

Good restaurant. Good food. It has a sightseeing place. Sometimes a bit windy. Excellent calmness. But recommend it.

Staff didn't speak english very well (but they were very friendly) which made it harder to ask about the dishes on the menu. Saw the cook making food without gloves and he was tasting something with his fingers. We ordered some steaks that came with rice, salad and french fries. The rice was presumably microwaved and the fries were undercooked. The steak tasted like gas and like it was burned. We told the staff about the food, paid for our drinks and left. The waiter who served us was very sorry about everything. We felt sorry for the customers that were arriving there to eat. It was a shame because the location of the restaurant is brilliant with the beautiful sea view - we just weren't able to enjoy it because of the food.

Farol da Ponta do Pargo is a remote place to visit a Lighthouse. On a rainy day it was a warm welcome at the nearby restaurant called Farol. We enjoyed the meals served by the chef with passion for his creation. The host gave us complimentary Madeira rum and even dessert was on the house. We recommend such hospitality!

The food was PERFECT, the crew is very very kind and professional. We did not expect a good service like it was. We were amased of the portion and the quality of the food. O Farol, go go go! :)

Understaffed when we were there. And an omelet with ham for a vegetarian is not very cool. Would be wise to mention the ingredients on the menu.
