Madeira Airport

This airport is a spotter’s dream!! The airport is located right along the coast and it’s just amazing how you can watch the planes land. Within the airport they even have a terrace that you can go on and watch all the action. The duty free has very affordable wine and there was coffee and food options including Burger King and Starbucks. The security staff was also very friendly.

We got a welcoming banana and water bottle. First airport ever to provide something like this. Awesome

As of winter 2021 you can take the free COVID test right in the airport. If you arrive with one and have registered on the madeirasafe site the "checkout" from the airport is just a breeze. You are even greeted with a bottle of water, a card and a banana! That's so sweet and not seen by me in any airport I've been so far )

Everything was absolutely OK, small, quiet airport. Especially in this "crazy covid-19" time, it was absolutely peaceful place. Prices in shops are really good, last minute we bought some more poncha, as a memory to our holiday vacation in Madeira. Hopefully return back soon.

Well done how they arrange the entry into the island. Free Covid test if you don't have one within 72 hours. No stress they are helpful and everything is going fine!
