Hotel Vila Galé Santa Cruz

Rooms are spacious and clean, hotel staff professional and friendly. Good variety on breakfast buffet with a chef preparing eggs at your liking. Highly recommended

We were provided this accommodation by Easy Jet after a delayed flight. We were told drinks and food were provided but was not stipulated only at a set time whilst eating. I went to the bar ordered a coke presuming this would have been provided. whilst i understand it isn't (fault of easyjet not the hotel) I dont think the manager handled it in the best way. He took the option of pouring the coke away instead of just educating for future. This to me doesn't seem like a very good way to treat people who could be potential customers in the future. Key card didnt work half the time and their is a lot of banging from the door in the corridor. I visit madiera a lot I guess now I know which hotel not to visit. In this instance there was a clear opportunity to turn service around but for the sake of €3 the manager took a different stance.

We only stayed one night here so limited time to explore all the facilities. The hotel is situated right next to the sea - and the airport. Rooms had everything you would expect for a four star hotel. Our children enjoyed the large outside pool. The hotel offers lots of facilities but many were closed during our visit due to Covid. The food was basic but plentyful. I'm sure during more normal times they offer a much wider selection.

We all enjoyed this brilliant hotel. The location is really great - a literal stone's throw from the beach. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good quality as are the drinks from the bar. There is some fantastic traditional entertainment that goes on after hours (and some less traditional entertainment too!)

Really lovely people, tasty buffet food with lots of choice. Beautiful clean pool, gym and even a trampoline!
