Espetada (Pedro)

The best espetada in Madeira. Not a fancy restaurant its a very rustic place and popular place where everyone goes for the experience.

Best meal in Madeira. One loaf of bread, one skewer of salt covered beef chunks, and four glasses of wine all for 8 euros! It’s tricky to find because there is no sign, but we knew we were in the right place when we saw four cats chewing on chunks of beef outside of what looked like a white garage. We ordered at the counter, sliced our bread, and then cooked our meat over the coals of the fireplace in the back. If you come at 7 it’s empty but by 8 the place was packed. We will be back!

Rustic, but simply genuine and best espetada in Madeira. Must try it to go where the locals go.

The best espetada in Madeira. Almost self-service place. The owner prepares the meat and you personally season and grill it. Slicing bread and pouring wine is also yours. Great fun and great meat. The price for two espetades, bread and two wines is 12 euros. I recommend highly
