The Funchal Aerobus is a great way to go into the centre of Funchal. However the website and departure sign are very confusing in trying to work out the schedule. I suggest downloading the SAM app for local buses and looking up Aerobus. It costs 8 euros for a return trip; there are lots of stops but the driver will only stop at the main ones and those that passengers request (you can also tell him your hotel).
