They saved me. I was returning from Port wine tasting at Quinta de la Rosa, really disappointing from a human point of view. It was late, after two in the afternoon, and I was hungry. Upon entering the lady gives me a good morning, and speaks to me, but in Portuguese. I speak English and French as well as Italian of course, but not Portuguese. The daughter who was busy breastfeeding the baby comes and takes action to make herself understood. In the blink of an eye they make me sit in the room, the wood stove is on, and during this rainy day, I enjoy the warmth. It's late, but for me, they feed me. I enjoyed a homemade sausage with a side dish, a hot tea, an orange soda, I bought two kilo packs of rice, and the bill did not reach 8 euros. Like a very scarce glass of Porto. Absurd, very little! I left more, they deserved it. This is an opportunity, writing here, to thank that kind family, which I do not know by name. I hope to return to greet you. Riccardo.
