Agricultural School of Ponte de Lima (ESA - IPVC)

Positive: ESA has a high quality teaching team. The library professionally managed by Mr. Tito and Mr. Alberto contains a wide variety of titles from the agronomic area. The different courses and careers are very structured. Negative: There is a great paradox, since many of the things that are taught within the institution are not applied within it, which discourages the student a lot. The chairs used physically affect the students and interfere in the correct learning; Instead of considering them a sunk cost, the management and the donor organization insist on keeping them just because they are "architectural pieces". The technical courses, although they are very well structured, are incorrectly aimed at a "child" target that uses them as a bridge to enter the long races, which is a waste of European resources as they are courses that would be better used by the adult population. The administrative area requires a course of attention to the public and emotional intelligence. Conclusion: Personally, I think that the management and some of the professors should be more open to the proposals for improvements made by the students themselves instead of closing to "it has always been done that way". ESA is an institution with a lot of potential, located in a strategic area, but that needs to be advised if it does not want to be left behind in time.
