Mercearia do Rosário

This little cozy place is not only super adorable, it is also visibly made with love. We stumbled upon it on a Saturday (brunch day!!) and we were seriously delighted. It’s one of those places where the pandemic has hit harder, as the place was basically empty save for us and the staff but the food was great and made with great care and the staff gave sweet grandparents vibes.

Nice place for lunch. They have a very good value set menu of Portuguese food with vegetarian options.

Soup, main dish, dessert, coffe and drink for less than 7 euros. Amazing quality and taste, and also excellent service. Would definitely go again.

Weird experience. Sadly the worst we had in Porto which I thought was impossible. The young woman serving had a stone face , didn’t even say hello, we felt like we were an inconvenience ( restaurant was empty apart from the one other table of diners ). She didn’t even look at us . The older guy very similar , grumpy and unwelcoming . We had a strange quick meal (food very disappointing and overpriced in comparison to other in the area )and left as soon as we could . Maybe they don’t like tourists - but hold on a second - we are their cash cows so a smile would not kill. Also port and tonic - don’t even bother - served in the tiniest glass - and not even with tonic but ginger ale . Invest in some lovely gin glasses . We will not be returning .

Had a great lunch here for 7€. The service is impeccable and the food is very tasty. The place is tastefully decorated and well maintained. Would definitely visit again!
