When you buy a "Program ticket" you get the tower access for 1 Euro extra (otherwise 2 Euro) and it's definitely worth the extra fee. The view over the university and Coimbra city is gorgeous. At the top it gets really narrow for some meters. If you don't like this you also shouldn't go up.

Great city view but beware the last steps are claustrophobic and not much accessible because it's too narrow.

The entrance fee is a 1 euro surplus on the combo tickets or 2 euro separately. The stairway gets very narrow near the top so if you are very claustrophobic I wouldn't recommend it. I'm a little claustrophobic but didn't have any problems with it. That also means not all body types will be able to get to the top, but they will probably tell you this at the entrance at the bottom. There can't be much more than say 6 or so people at the top of the tower at any one time. It's 184 steps so if you have a heart condition it's not a good idea. At the top you can take nice panoramic pictures though so worth the price of the admission for me.

Price is €1,- when buying it in a combine ticket with the rest of the University. The stairs at the top are very tight and a bit of a challenge. The views on top are magnificent.

184 steps and mild claustrophoby from halfway up but the view of the city from the top well worth it. Must see, don't skip this! (You can see Sé Velha in all its Glory, something that is impossible from below)
