Went at 8:15 AM and were the only ones there. Waiter happily greeted us in English. excellent pastis. Great espresso. Gave us some tips on how best to see the city when we asked. I would go back or highly recommend to a friend or family member

Very nice and friendly place, tasty food, very helpful staff. An excellent place to have some rest after wandering along Coimbra narrow streets, especially if you have to wait for your train or a bus. And thank you, Fernando, for saving my life with your mint tea. I had horrible stomach problems after having a meal at Restaurante Praca Velha and I really don't know how it might have ended but for your mint infusion

Good for lunch but shade can be at a premium. In a large open square that can trap the heat.
