Stayed here with my family for the week - group of 10 adults and 8 kids - Villa was perfect and immaculately maintained - owners were very friendly & great hosts - couldn’t recommend enough !!!!!

We had a fabulous time at the Casal do Carvahal the whole week we spent there. The house is lovely and spacious and has a fun, eclectic mix of deco styles in every room. The swimming pool and snooker room were very well maintained and perfect for a family holiday in the sun. The owners, who live on the estate, although this is not clear when you book the villa, are a joy to be around and encourage you to enjoy the fruit and veg from their incredible orchard. The area is good and within 10 minute drive there some good hikes and MTB rides. However, please note that on the last two weekends of July, the hamlet celebrates their local festivities, and very loud music is played from 9:30 in the morning until 10 at night, which makes for the enjoyment of a quiet day in the villa impossible. So, in a nutshell, I would recommend renting this wonderful place outside these two weeks unless you are a fan of loud distorted Portuguese folk music.
