The "bolinhos de bacalhau" were COLD. There is no bigger profanity here in Portugal. Felt like a tourist trap to me.

What a find. Went up to Penha mountain with the Guimaraes cable car and was thirsty and hungry. Avoided the regular cafes and down a flight of stone steps I found this authentic experience. Women frying sardines and baking -- in a wood fire -- the flat breads that serve as plates. They also serve "caldo verde" (green broth), chourico and codfish cakes. Sit there in the shade and enjoy the simple but tasty fare with a beer or wine.
