The water tower for the campus of the University of Aveiro was designed by Álvaro Siza Vieira (Matosinhos, 25 June 1933) and built in 1988-89.
A rectangular parallelepiped is supported at the top "simply" by a 20 cm thick septum and by a cylinder that gives access to the tank. The tower rises hieratically from the center of a body of water which is part of the project.
