It is wonderful that the town of Murtosa, Portugal had the presence of mind along with the Comur company to save the original factory. My grandfather and father made small barrels that are on display and sealed them on site that preserved eels and other fish like sardines. Precursor to sardines in cans we know now.

A modern place which can give you a big insight into Murtosa, its traditions and culture. Generally a short, fun and digestible visit with a lot to give.

Interesting for those who want to know the history of canned fish. It is well designed, but it does not dazzle. There is a store with prices below normal.
