I'm giving 3 stars because I believe that the money is going towards a good thing: conserving endemic species to the azores. However, for €7.50 my partner and I expected that it would be better maintained and with more flowering species. Reception lady was very kind and helpful :)

This place is a nicely organised garden with tons of green shrubbery. Maybe it's the month of September but green is all we say. The fruit trees are. Well. Shrubbery with berries. This said. Everything is nicely labeled and if you're into botany well worth the visit. Although the entrance fee is quite steep.

Interseting if you are into biological science. I am not. They store seeds from plants. It is not a place to go to if you are looking for a walk in a beautiful garden with flowers.

Unfortunately half closed at the moment because of constructions. Otherwise nice that they have it and if you have too much time here you should go. But nothing overwhelming

Nice place to spend a couple of hours - having an enjoyable walk, looking at plants and learning more about native Azores plants, invasive species and the efforts people are putting to keep the bio diversity. You can start by watching a movie in which you learn more about the preservation efforts and history of the garden. The garden itself is quite big and has been recently extended. There are different sections - native Azores plants, "exotic plants" which have been imported here, and there's also an orchiderium
