Anta da Melriça

Very well preserved dolmen, 3000 or 2000 bc, there is the need to cross a farm field, but its worth the time.

A dolmen in Portugal, what not to love. Difficult to turn on the road. If you drive a km there is a fork and you can reverse around the corner and turn around.

I visited this anta (Dolmen) in November, 2017 while on my bicycle tour of Portugal. I highly recommend seeing this anta! The location is off road M1007 which you turn onto from highway N246 and there is a sign for the turn to a lane going down to the anta. The lane is very narrow leading down to a gate on the right hand side into a field. Cross through the gate and the anta/dolmen sits in the middle of the field.
