Great cozy place for food the locals love. The fried alheira and carapau are delish. $10=a full, happy belly with wine and dessert.
Had not been to this restaurant in over five years as had not been to Leiria for ages. However, I did not want to eat anywhere else, so, since I had forgotten the name of the restaurant but not the food or the friendly service, I asked a passer by if he knew of a restaurant where the waiter(one of the partners, actually) called all the girls by "Catarina". He knew immediately which restaurant I was talking about. The food was.still unbelievable, and service amazing and I can't wait to go back. The kids, two Catarinas, loved the place and actually behaved for.once. Lol.
