Avelino is a lovely guide who shows you around the Rio Formosa in a gentle boat, and explains the diverse and rich flora and fauna that you cannot miss if you are visiting Faro

We were lucky enough to be just us two so had a very peaceful private tour. Very relaxing, the boat is almost silent to just the sound of the water, wind and birds. Our guide explained the features of the water way, the bird species and the local clam digging industry. It was great to look back from the water at the old town set among the newer surrounds. Only problem with the trip was it came to an end!

Today we went for a 2.5 hours bird watching trip with our guide Avelino in his solar boat. Saw and heared a lot of birds on the Ria Formosa. Had a great time. Thanks again Avelino

Wonderful! With my partner, we opted for the one hour tour at 15 €. The owner, who is also the guide, is very pleasant to listen to. He makes the effort to speak in French, and has even created a booklet to recognize birds and know their names that we speak French, English, German, Swedish (...). He even provided binoculars for observation. Very nice attentions, and a most enjoyable ride: an electric motor boat, solar energy ... Not a sound, in a natural park: it's relaxing, impressive, and you learn things. To recommend with eyes closed !
