A pleasing place to spend some time relaxed.

After a lot of walking exploring the area, we sat down on a bench in the shade to take in the late afternoon atmosphere - pedestrians strolling by in all directions, locals playing card games at tables, a live jazz performance at the cocktail bar across the street adding to the ambiance. All about 'hygge' more than the actual state of the landscaping and planting.

Nothing really wrong with it but it could do with just a little more attention. Sometimes it's hard to find a place to sit in the shade while there's no shortage of benches.

Beautiful historic buildings in Faro. I love the architecture here: a very aesthetically pleasing feast for the eyes, and peaceful too. Considering the Portuguese / Spanish wars that were fought on this border, the contrast to modern European culture is stark. A much happier place today, but with a dark and interesting past. Well worth spending time here to consider the history and enjoy the beauty and peace the we have today 😀

Beautiful gardens. 5 stars only because there were 4-5 peacocks. What a beautiful sight.
