DELGATURIS CITY TOUR FARO TOURIST TRAIN The innovative tourist transport already provides services to tourists and residents. The municipality awarded a concession contract with operator Delgaturis for four years. The route includes new stops and places of interest and allows users to get on and off the train in various places, in order to get to know the city better. The municipality of Faro has since yesterday, June 25, a new public transport system of tourist interest in a road train that operates in the city. The implementation of this new tourist train system results from a concession contract granted by the Municipality on February 19 to the operator Delgaturis - Empreendimentos Turísticos, Lda, for a period of 4 years, after a public tender approved by resolution of the Faro City Council on July 1, 2019. The tourist transport system consists of a tractor and three trailers for the transport of passengers, which travels a new extended route with new stops and tourist points defined by the Municipality. The route continues leaving from Praça D. Francisco Gomes, passing through various points of interest in the city and new stops at Jardim da Alameda, Chapel of Santo António do Alto, Municipal Market and Carmo Church. This new service has two possible modalities, unlike previously, in which the tourist train had a single route that lasted about 45 minutes. The user can opt for a single use ticket, complete or partial, for the value of 4 euros, or for a daily ticket for the value of 6 euros, in which tourists can make, throughout the day, several trips and stops. Both types have a 50% reduction for children 4 to 10 years old and it is free for children up to 3 years old. The new daily ticket mode allows, throughout the day, tourists to make the stops they want at the tourist points along the route and continue their trip at the specified times at the various stopping points, in order to explore and get to know the city better. This transport will take place every day of the year, but with seasonal adaptations: from April 1 to October 31, it will operate between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m., while from November 1 to March 31, the schedule will be from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m. During the tour, this service will also provide tourist information in various formats, through a paper map, but also through an audio guide with headphones and the possibility to choose between five available languages (including Portuguese and English, mandatory languages).
