Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Lagoa

Magnificent church which sits on the largest square in the city. We see it from afar when arriving from the parking lot and we appreciate its majestic side. It is a very beautiful building which gives its singular character to the city surrounded by imposing fortifications worthy of Vauban and to the houses all painted in white.

A beautiful building, a shame the deterioration due to inclement weather and the passage of time. Without excesses, very beautiful. A pity that inside photos are not allowed, so we do not show any of the interior. Still, you can't miss a visit in this church. Visit highly recommended.

A Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Lagoa situada no Alentejo em Monsaraz e teve a sua execução no século XIII de estilo gótico, do tempo de D. DINIS. A atual igreja foi construída em mármore de Estremoz durante o século XVI em duas ocasiões, a primeira depois do terramoto de 1755 é a outra no século seguinte.

Fechado na ocasião. Perfeitamente harmonizado com o restante da povoação. Bela Praça.
