Monte West Coast

This is a beautiful place to stay, in the heart of a valley, beside a tranquil river. Self catering but with breakfast included, a woodstove lit for you on chilly days, free yoga sessions twice a week, staff on site if you need help, and excellent tips from the owners on where to eat, surf and explore. We just had the best holiday here... Highly recommended, we will definitely go again.

Well. We’ve had a wonderful two weeks in Casa dos Sobreiros. A one bedroom 65 square metre house that is bigger than our first apartment in Hamburg! We chose this house on the hill as I believe it has the most privacy and we were not disappointed. It’s been a fantastic escape from the busy world and the location and house are just fabulous. We were a little worried with the directions ‘park the car and then cross two bridges by food’ to get to your accommodation. But in reality it’s just a few metres and you are suddenly in a private paradise surrounded by nature and lush green plants. We’ve seen wild turtles and many lizards and birds whilst we’ve been here. The bedroom view from the house is fantastic. The inside is simple and cool and clean. The cleaners come every day and there is fresh bread every day and provisions every few days such as cheese and jam. We happily woke one morning to 5 eggs 😍 the pool is just about our house and the other houses have to go past our patio to it. This has not been a problem and we have only see people 2/3 times in two weeks. The pool is heated and has an amazing view. It can be quite windy up there but has some sheltered places. Marina was our contact for the stay and she has been fabulous. So responsive to our random texts, always happy to help and give suggestions. We rate our stay 5 stars ⭐️ and we wouldn’t have changed a thing. I hope to be back one day. I have my eye on the very large house next time....

Beautiful. No frills outdoor wild space with the complete opposite indoor well designed clean cut rooms

Glamping in restored farmhouses set away from civilization in 50 hectare estate. Not suitable for persons with mobility difficulties since most units, and the beautiful saltwater pool, are some distance from parking up a stone path. Perfect for romantic couples or others who want to hide. We loved the architectural details in "Casa dos Sobreiro", but found some doors didn't quite close, furniture that looked great but were uncomfortable and functional IKEA accessories that reminded us a little too much of home. Wifi was surprisingly excellent. Nearby beach at Odeceixe voted best in Portugal. Food for a simple first day breakfast is provided and there after loaf of bread is brought every morning super nice but shop before you arrive! A kind and friendly Moldavian crew looks after the place and makes you feel exceedingly welcome. Google map coordinates for nearest Parking to dos Sobreiro: 37.4232654,-8.752461.
