Was closed no chance to see the museum but impressive landscape

Very nice place with a lot of experiments and video quizzes. More than half of the descriptions are in English as well. We were told that guided tours for the mine are only on weekends, so we could only see the two museums (mine museum (rather boring) and science museum (made with love and very interesting)) The outside area with the acid lake is also worth a short visit. You probably don`t even have to pay for a stroll around the lake.

Great museum with friendly English speaking staff. It's part science museum, part mining museum and it's worth paying to take the tour of the mine which is really interesting, although long (1.5 hours) and there isnt much shade from the sun until you get to the mine. My kids loved the interactive science displays and it was a great day out in the area.

Near by the main road to Algarve, this is a pleasant stop, to eat and visit this old mine. Coffee (or a beer) in Café da Mina is a good choice :-)
