Elkina, 34 Coordinates: 55.16335, 61.397242 In 2006, a chapel in honor of the Great Martyr George the Victorious was solemnly consecrated in the territory of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Chelyabinsk Region. The initiative to build an Orthodox church was made by representatives of the local Council of Veterans of Internal Affairs Bodies and Internal Troops, and soon the idea found support in the person of the GUVD leadership and local residents. The roof of the church is crowned with a gilded dome made of titanium alloy, and inside there is a magnificent painted iconostasis, which has no analogues in Chelyabinsk. The construction of the temple took about a year - the first stone in its foundation was laid in the summer of 2005.
