Memorial'nyy Kompleks Zhertv Politicheskikh Repressiy

A quick stop out of the city to see the memorial and the art piece showing the face of an European and an Asian. A bit racist but does the job well to show that we're approaching the border between the 2 continents. Note there is a toilet here, but it is the smelliest one I've seen in Russia as it's just a hole, no flush, no basin to wash your hands.

Ladies and gentlemen, visit this memorable place on occasion. Your state of mind will not be the same. You will feel sorrow for our best citizens innocently tortured by cannibals. And this sorrow will cleanse you, the understanding of life will become clearer. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Memorial society for supporting the complex in conditions of constant ostracism and pressure. Thank you!

Mentally, near the forest

There is a statue of Ernst the Unknown "Mask of Sorrow" on the memorial. The place makes you think about the eternal, about good and evil, about human meanness and soullessness of the state. From 1930 to 1950 more than 18,000 people were shot at this site. All for far-fetched political reasons. It is very scary that now, before our very eyes, the country is heading confidently and with acceleration in the same direction. It is imperative that these terrible events be prevented from happening again. The memorial itself is located on the Yekaterinburg - Perm highway, it is very easy to get there, there are no problems with parking. A must visit.

Local que muitos não sabem de tudo que aconteceu na época de Stallin. Memorial vale a pena ser visitado e lembrado do que aconteceu no passado. E memória das pessoas e famílias devem ser honradas.
