Krasnoobsk Settlement

In 1968, by a decree of the Central Committee of the CPSU and the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the organization of branches of the VASKhNIL in Kiev, Tashkent and Novosibirsk was allowed. In 1969, the Council of Ministers of the USSR adopted a Resolution on the creation of a scientific research complex of the Siberian branch of VASKhNIL near Novosibirsk in order to accelerate the development of agriculture in Siberia and the Far East and increase the role of science in the development of the productive forces of the region. Created mainly on the basis of already existing Novosibirsk institutions, the Siberian Research and Design Technological Institute of Animal Husbandry (SibNIPTIZh), the Siberian Research Institute of Agricultural Mechanization and Electrification (SIBIME), the Siberian Research Institute of Agricultural Economics (SibNIIESH), the Siberian Research Institute of Chemicalization of Agriculture, Research Institute of Feed. On April 14, 1970, the solemn foundation of the village of Krasnoobsk was held as a science city, which was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of V.I. The project was developed by the GIPRONII of the USSR Academy of Sciences and included a research and development facility with a training base, residential and public areas. The construction was attributed to the All-Union Komsomol construction projects. It was founded in 1972 as a settlement for workers of the then formed Siberian branch of VASKHNIL. The scientific town was opened on January 24, 1975, received the city status in 1976.
